Monterey Technologies, Inc. Spans Two Decades of Service as E-7 Wedgetail Contractor to Royal Australian Air Force
MTI’s Work Has Ensured Aircraft Delivery In line with the Commonwealth of Australia’s Contractual Performance Requirements Plus Critical Support and Ongoing Updates for 23 Years

PARK CITY, UT – Monterey Technologies, Inc. (MTI) has served as a contractor for the Commonwealth of Australia (CoA) since 1999 on the AIR 5077 Wedgetail AEW&C (Airborne Early Warning & Control) program.
With the United States Air Force evaluating next generation options for its aging E-3 Sentry fleet, MTI’s contractor history with the Wedgetail program is being highlighted as a successful showcase of innovation, performance and delivery.

MTI’s contracting work has focused on systems engineering, human factors engineering and subject matter expertise specific to the Wedgetail. MTI’s team has amassed more than 1500 flight hours during their evaluation, training and consulting work.
“At the core of all we do are efforts to ensure that the mission systems on the Wedgetail aircraft provide cutting edge capabilities to the warfighter while meeting the contractual performance requirements,” states Christopher Weldon, MTI Senior Engineer and Program Office Rep to Boeing OKC.
In addition to its extensive in-flight experience, MTI’s contractor achievements with the Wedgetail program include:
Leading the process to validate and developing the approach to reduce the crew from 17 to 10 crew members.
Delivering 10 full mission system training scenarios along with installing a Wedgetail mission simulation system at Royal Australian Air Force Base in Williamtown, NSW Australia.
Serving as Test Director for final acceptance testing prior to delivery and contract closure.

The US Air Force currently maintains a fleet of 31 E-3 Sentry aircraft. A combination of obsolete parts and aging technology has significantly impacted the availability of the current E-3 fleet.
With their project management expertise and focus on ensuring aircraft delivery achieves contract requirements, MTI looks to be a key contractor in future Wedgetail programs.
